Advanced Warning – Closure of Bar Hill Bridge

6th March 2018

Longstanton Parish Council have been advised that the Bar Hill Bridge (over the A14) will be closed for 7 days from 3rd April 2018.  Please see the information below received from Cambridgeshire County Council which covers the Hattons Road closure this weekend:

Highways England are proposing to complete works for the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon Improvement Scheme. They are building a temporary junction at Bar Hill which will then enable them to build the permanent junction (roundabout and bridge).

The first stage of the works is to start works on the tie ins on Hattons Road, Longstanton. These works will need to be completed with a weekend closure of Hattons Road. Highways England unfortunately had to cancel the works last weekend therefore they will now take place 20:00hrs 9th March 2018 to 05:00hrs 12th March 2018.

The second stage of the works will involve a 7 day closure Monday to Sunday of the bridge from the Crafts Way/Saxon Way roundabout and over the A14 (roundabout will be fully operational). The closure is required as they need to complete a full formation dig.  No vehicles including emergency vehicles will be able to go through the closure. Works are expected to start 3rd April 2018 for 7 days.

The third stage of the works is to complete the tie ins on Hattons Road, Longstanton which can be completed using 2 way temporary traffic signals dates to be completed.
