Below are this week’s planned closures and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.  This week’s A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon closures;

Mon 19 to Fri 23
A1 northbound Buckden to Brampton Hut (each night, 9pm – 6am)
A1 southbound Alconbury to Brampton (each night, 9pm – 6am)

Wed 21 for one night
M11 northbound J14 exit slip & Girton westbound loop onto A14 eastbound (9pm – 6am)

Thurs 22 for one night
A14 westbound Histon (J32) exit slip (9pm – 6am)

Fri 23 to Sun 25
Potton Rd – small section St Ives Rd on the B1040 closed, after Hilton (Potton Rd) & before A14 (Fri 8pm – Sun 7pm)

SCDC Private Sector Leasing Scheme

Message received from SCDC Private Sector Leasing

I am writing to inform your Parish of the exciting new scheme created by SCDC, for private landlords.

It is called the Private Sector Leasing Scheme operating with the newly formed company name of Shire Homes Lettings Limited.

The purpose of the scheme is to provide good quality, affordable homes within the private rented sector to assist in preventing homelessness.  The scheme offers the following benefits to landlords:

–              a guaranteed monthly rent in advance for the term of the lease (3 years);
–              no management fees;
–              day-to-day maintenance;
–              regular property inspections;
–              ‘hassle-free’ full management service.

We have a full page article in the latest version of the South Cambs Magazine, which is due out shortly.

Keep Longstanton Tidy – Dog Fouling Bin Stickers

13th February 2018

Longstanton Parish Council has decided to buy some ‘Keep Britain Tidy’ – We’re Watching You posters to help combat the dog fouling being experienced in the village.  While buying these posters, we have the opportunity to purchase A4 ‘bin stickers’ (stickers to stick on your wheelie bin, or wherever you like) at £5 each.
If anyone would like to purchase a sticker, please email parish.clerk@longstantonvillage.org by 20th February.  The order will be placed on 21st February.  Unfortunately these cannot be purchased separately to this order.

Full closure Grafham Rd (Sat 8pm – Sun 3pm), to demolish existing bridge.

Cambridge Highways Events for February & March

 5th February 2018

Message from Cambridgeshire Highways about forthcoming events which will disrupt journeys in and around Cambridge over February and March.

E-Luminate Fesitval 9th to 14th Feb across Cambridge. Now it its 6th year the e-luminate festival with its theme of colour this year, will definitely light up the evenings. Some scaffolding on Senate House hill enabling a projection onto Caius College by Artist Patrice Warrener will be a must see. https://www.cambridgelivetrust.co.uk/e-luminate/events/installation-colours-caius-college

Cambridge Half Marathon – Sunday 4th March. The largest mass participation run in the County returns on the same course as the 2017 with several road closures being implemented from 04:00 on the morning of the event. Roads will open as swiftly as possible post event however it will be wise to plan your route in and out of Cambridge.
