The Commissioner is proposing to increase the policing part of the Council Tax by £1 per month per household – £12.00 per year (based on a Band D property).  The link above is the press release detailing information for your consideration.

Consultation Starts on Children’s Centre Proposals

At last month’s Parish Council meeting, I was asked for details on the proposed transformation of children services and agreed that as soon as I had FULL details of the plan I will let them know.  I had hoped to get this into the Longstanton Life, but the deadline was way before the full details became available.  However as with all County Council Consultations, a link to this consultation was placed on the Parish Council Web Site as is all my monthly reports. Fire Governance Public Consultation

18th July 2017

Longstanton Parish Council has been contacted by the Police & Crime Commissioner’s office asking that the following information be shared with residents of the village.

On Monday the 3rd July, the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Police and Crime Commissioner, Jason Ablewhite, launched his fire governance consultation.

All the information regarding the consultation, including a short survey, can be found using the link.

Not long left to have your say on Cambridgeshire and Peterborough devolution deal

Residents and businesses have until Tuesday 23 August 2016 to give their views on a proposed devolution deal for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Seven councils and the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Enterprise Partnership have joined together to ask Government for some powers, responsibilities and funding to be transferred from Central Government to Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

This means a greater number of decisions on public services would be made locally, rather than nationally.

In the deal local people could have control over a new £600 million fund (£20million annually) to improve transport and infrastructure as well as £170 million to build more homes in the county.
