Theft by Former Clerk – updated

Longstanton Parish Council has been informed that following the action taken by the Council in 2012 the case bought by the CPS against the former Parish Clerk was heard at Crown Court on Monday 7th November 2016, where she pleaded guilty to theft of £17,000.
Following sentencing on 14th November, the woman was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for two years, for stealing £18,000 from the council. The theft occurred between 2010 and 2011.  An application has been made to recover the costs.
