July Highway Events

County Council’s Highway Department have asked that we share the following information with you:


Please find attached July’s Highway Events Diary showing confirmed and proposed events. Please remember highway events can be viewed on line in map format at https://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/residents/travel-roads-and-parking/roads-and-pathways/highway-events/

July’s Events Highlights include:

Wisbech Rose Fair – Saturday 7th July – The annual fair with associated parade features several road closures in Wisbech town centre.

Race for Life Cambridge – Sunday 8th July – The charity event returns to Cambridge. This year it starts and finishes at Jesus Green and involves several road closures in Cambridge City Centre.

The Big Weekend – 13th – 15th July  – The family oriented event returns to Parkers Piece Cambridge attracting additional visitors and traffic to the area.

Ely Folk festival – 13th – 15th July – Ely’s annual folk festival returns to the leisure village off the B1411. Expect additional traffic in the area on the 13th for arrival and 15th on departure.

Duxford Air Show –  14th and 15th July  – Duxford second air show of the season takes place across the weekend, again expect additional traffic on the A505 and surrounding areas.

St Ives Carnival – 14th July – The carnival parade features short road closures from the Market Hill, St Ives Area along the parade route to Hill Rise Park.

Cambridge Rock Festival – 26th – 29th July. The rock festival returns to its site off of Dean Road, Horse Heath. Festival traffic will be expected throughout the weekend but especially on the 26thJuly and 29th July as campers arrive and depart.
